ken comes to visit
I've written about my friend Ken before, but just have to feature him again. Ken and the lovely Rhonda came for a visit a few weeks ago, with some "freshly cut" gemstones for me to look at, and of course buy! His work is divine...and although he cuts and facets many different sorts, his Australian stones always get my creative juices going.
By the way...all of the stones on the Header Photo of this blog (the row of rings) are cut and faceted by Ken.

Where the #@$*# is Theodore, Queensland?
Where is Theodore, Queensland you might ask?
Although only a 7 hour drive from my door step to “bustling downtown” Theodore, it feels really, really outback! And what was I doing there?
A Renee Blackwell Design “meet and greet” and jewellery show/sale… with the lovely ladies of Theodore. Host location, the beautiful Rhubarb Boutique, and the equally lovely and fun owner, Fleur.
Country living at its best…I had a blast!

Sterling Silver Jewellery is Hot and getting Hotter!
I have found in the past women tend to fall into two groups; "I only wear silver OR I only wear gold jewellery." Over the years this has melted into "I love to mix my gold and silver" and I think this is great! It opens up the options much wider to the kind of jewellery and mix of jewellery available and is a much more contemporary look. I have just been asked by the Australian Jewellery Magazine to submit some of my new silver designs for an article on sterling silver....Here's a sneak preview!
